CANDLE CARE ADVICE

When burning your candles, it is important to follow a few steps to ensure their longevity in order to get the most out of them. Below are some useful tips when burning your candles to maximize your experience and protect your surroundings.

Sculptural Candles

Our elegant Coal Black candles are handcrafted to add a touch of sophistication to any space. Please note, these candles are strictly for decorative purposes and should not be burned. Perfect for enhancing your décor with a bold, timeless statement."

Our sculptural candles are primarily designed for decorative purposes, but if you wish to burn them, it is important to take proper precautions to ensure they burn safely. Each sculptural candle is UNIQUE, which will be reflected in the way it burns. The burning time will also depend on the size of the candle.

  • Expect wax spillage from your sculptural candles, so before burning make sure to place them on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Avoid burning your sculptural candles for more than 2 hours at a time.
  • While unlit, keep your candles away from direct sunlight as this can cause the wax to soften, affecting their beautiful color and shape.

Container Candles

  • Burn your container candle for at least 3 hours the first time you light it and never burn it for more than 4 hours at a time. This will help the candle burn evenly.
  • Do not move or touch the candle while it is burning, as the container will get hot during the burn.

For both Sculptural and container candles

  • Your candle wicks will always come pre-trimmed so they are ready to light right out of the box.
  • Before relighting your candles, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch to ensure a clean and smoke-free flame.
  • If you notice any black smoke coming from the candle, it means that the wick is too long. Extinguish the candle and trim the wick before relighting it.
  • Keep the candle away from kids, pets, and any flammable materials, such as curtains, and away from drafts, as this can cause the flame to flicker and potentially start a fire.
  • We recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish the candle if available, as this will prevent the wax from splattering.
  • Remember that a candle should never be left unattended while burning.

HOT THROW FROM SCULPTURAL CANDLES

The hot throw refers to the strength of the candle's fragrance when it is burning

The hot throw from a sculptural candle is lower than that of a container candle because their unique shape and design often results in a smaller surface area of wax that is exposed to the air.

This means that less fragrance oil can be released into the air, leading to a weaker scent. Additionally, sculptural candles may also have a more dense wax composition, which can further limit the release of fragrance oil.

Taking care of Jesmonite trays is relatively simple, and with proper maintenance, they can retain their beauty and durability for a long time. Here are some tips on how to care for your Jesmonite trays:

Regular Cleaning: Wipe the tray clean with a damp, soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the surface. DO NOT put in the dishwasher.

Avoid Stains: Our trays are sealed using a solvent free sealer to ensure that they are stain resistant . Please Keep in mind that Jesmonite is a porous material , so over time  it can stain easily. Be cautious with liquids like red wine, coffee, and oils. If a spill occurs, clean it up promptly to prevent staining.

Store Properly: If you have multiple trays or items stacked on top of one another, use soft padding or cloth to prevent scratching.
